Why are Ducati motorcycles so over rated?

I recently started riding a few months ago. I purchased a Honda CBR 1000RR :-D as my fist bike!
So I emerged into this biker trend/world. And apparently from what I hear Ducati's are the best of the best??? Most riders would talk about Ducati this, Ducati that, Ducati is the best, Ducati, blah blah blah... Are Ducs really all that? I bet my Honda CBR 1000RR is as good as a Ducati, if not better! So what makes these bikes so over rated?
 
Instead of wondering why people talk about them, why not go to a dealership and take one for a spin. Make an informed opinion about why you do or do not like one. Realistically, there are just as many "kinds" of Ducati bikes as there are other bikes. Sport touring models, the laid back nimble models (like the monster), the supersports (inbetween), the superbikes, cafe style classics (like the sport 1000) and they all feel different and are all fun. But that's just my opinion.

I try not to hate on a bike before I actually go ride it. You never know what will surprise you. (or disgust you)
