...the same thing? They both have motherboards and video cards and memory and such, so if I take the stats of a PS3 or Xbox and try to build a PC with similar components it is easily over 1,000... maybe 2,000 or 2,500 when the console first came out, yet it sells for $200 - $400.
Are computer components overpirced? Are consoles taking a hit in hopes of making the money back selling games and online subscriptions?

I know that you can "do more" with a PC then a gaming console, but the fact that I can "do more" with it shouldn't make the cost of the materials increase. I don't pay more for my TV because I watch TV and play games than someone that just watches TV.
