Why are cheerleaders stereo typed?

because most rich kids are, and most rich kids are cheerleader, and when i say "most", i don't MEAN all of them.
 
many seem to think they are better.. and they are very sassy and bit*chy..and many attractive skinny woman like cheerleaders are complete girly girl the the highest pitch vouice i ever F...ing heard...like 17khz at 85db they are whores selling them selves in a acceptable way to society which means being entertained by half naked sluts jumping screaming and begging for sex on the spot...lol

It's the same reason teenage males are charged more for insurance. Some people ruin it and give the group a bad image. So, you can be a virgin cheerleader, but because most of the squad, or even the squads before weren't exactly virgins, then you'll be perceived as a non-virgin.

i honestly think they arent whores but the way they actually dress like ewww thats to nasty for a high school person to wear those short skirts and tops that go up to ur belly button. and when you do flips ur underwear shows. its so stupid GO BULLDOGS YEAH! whats the point of doing that.

ask any guy who played football. the jersey = cheerleader magnet. the attention is fun but it just shows how superficial they are.
 
i guess they just are the b**chy type. like maybe people are annoyed of them and dont like the way they treat other people and how they act? and they take it all out on them by calling them those things. iduno. i dont really have a problemm with them, most my friends are cheerleaders. but yea some of them are kinda snobby.
 
i think alot of girls are seriously jealous of cheerleaders because they are normally very pretty and flexible and social. some are just dumb blondes though. i admire cheerleaders myself, i wish i could do something like that. so i believe, its jealousy that causes it and also immaturity. alot of girls stand up for only what they believe in and if they arent girly girly dress wearing people then they wont like people that do because they dont realize that others have more interests.

another reason is that alot of guys tend to have crushes on cheerleaders, considering they stand out. and they are typically the ones you see around campus holding a boys hand.
 
I think its because cheerleaders are very outgoing and loud.
I personally don't think it's bad however, from a girls standpoint: when their boyfriend is on a football team, or basketball or what have you and another girl is "over excited" when that girl boyfriend makes a basket or scores a touch down they get jealous. ~its their job as the girlfriend to be excited and another girl is trying to be better at it by wearing short skirt and jumping around~ Now i know that is not the goal of a cheerleader, it just to encourage their team and try to keep spirits up. Some girls just cant stand it and start to cause drama, then everyone starts to think well yea, why does she have to cheer my man on, he has me. and it turns in to a catty little problem.
I dont mean to offend anyone. I do not think cheerleaders are all bad. I do not think that all of them are "whores and what not" i think that people should know some one individually before making statement because of a stereotype.

believe me.. the cheerleaders at my high school act all innocent and their the ones that go to the partys and play strip poker. yup, whores.
 
For the same reason any other group is stereotyped.
Because those that are not part of the group, would like to be, or feel they must bring those that are part of the group down.
Stereotyping is a defense mechanism that humans use to fight their feelings of inadequacy.
People fear what they don't understand. This simple truth causes people to stereotype others in hope of bringing their group down and making themselves feel more important.
 
because they are willing to jump around half naked before they are even out of school lol...good for the school's "men" staff...but not your rep
