why am I suddenly allergic to my makeup that I have used for year?

I was told by a dermatologist that we can develop allergies at anytime in our lives to almost anything. That being said, it's more like the formula in your makeup has changed. Is it a new bottle or the same one you've been using? If it's the same one, then you might investigate if anything else has changed that you are using......detergent, fabric softener, creams, etc. Good luck :)

If it's over 3-6 months old, it could be contaminated and that's what is causing the problem.

Hi I agree with Titchou: After a year make-up is old and may have bacteria in it that can cause skin and or eye infections. If it had been mine I would be dumping it. The truth is I don't use any at all because I would rather look natural and the sun is supposed to help with insulin levels and vitamin D and other healthful things as long as the skin is not burned and is done during proper hours. One book I respect says that the sun helps to impart a healthy glow to the cheeks of children and therefore to dispense with the heavy drapes.

Welcome to the boarRAB. I'm from your area as well.

You've been given some good advice.

You might also want to get fresh make-up brushes as well as trying some fresh make-up. I had a bad make-up related allergic reaction a couple months ago and finally tracked it back to my brushes even though I wash them regularly.

Also, keep some dye-free Benedryl on hand in case of another allergic reaction.

Hi Leemabean60! Well it seems some people suffer reactions much earlier and now I wonder if the substances used in make up are healthy at all and also if it would be possible for the bacteria to be present in the factory? I wonder how natural it is? I wonder if there any sterile make-up mandates ?
