Why am I still sick????/?

I have been sick since Christmas. At first it started out just being really tired all the time and having a sore throat and really congested, then a i had a fever with bad chills for a day which i took fever reducers for. Then my throat became rediculouly dry and even more sore. Then I started coughing like crazy and the congestion got worse, and now the coughing is getting worse like I can feel it in my chest. I have taken every cold medicine in the drugstore, drank plenty of fluids and taken vitamins but it wont go away. Should I be concerned enough to see a doctor? I don't want to because I am a broke college student with no health insurance but I don't want to act like it is nothing if it is you know
