Why am I not being accepted to Medical Schools?

I have a 3.8gpa and I got a 31 on the MCAT. I started interviewing very early (august) and my interviews always go well (at least from my point of view)...the interviewers are always telling me that I'm an excellent candidate and that i shouldn't worry cause I will definitely be accepted by multiple schools, etc. Truth is, I've been rejected by numerous schools, even my state schools, which should've been easier to get into. Where I've interviewed and been rejected include SUNY Upstate, VCU, Albert Einstein, and my dream school NYU (which is where I also went to undergrad...bastards) I was outright rejected (w/o interview) by Jefferson and Rochester. Also, I haven't even gotten a reply after submitting my secondary application from NY Medical College, Loyola, Mount Sinai, and Rosalind Franklin. Currently I'm waitlisted at SUNY Buffalo, Stony Brook and Downstate, Drexel and University of Miami. I also applied to St George's in the Carribbean and Sackler in Tel Aviv....as my last-resort, back up plans. I don't understand why I'm not being accepted. Right now, my plan is to go to Sackler if I don't get into a US school. Am I making the right decision? Why am I not being accepted?! (Further info: I'm a US citizen, white male, no legal issues)

Obviously, I don't go into an interview with such a hostile attitude. I'm sure you can understand where I'm coming from though, after having studied hard, volunteered in hospitals, done years of research and spent thousands and thousands of dollars applying and traveling for interviews. I don't feel "entitled", but its just upsetting when I see many of my classmates who have done worse than me in school are accepted because their daddy is a big shot at so-and-so hospital.

I am a Biochemistry Major, Mathematics Minor...but don't worry I also took many other non-math/science classes (against my will haha)
