I have a newer surge suppressor on the carpet, near my television. All of my major electronics are plugged into this. At times, I will turn on my XBOX 360 or PS3 and it will also turn on my PC nearby. I feel a slight static shock beforehand. I've actually touched the bottom of my X360 wired controller, where the static occurs and I've shorted out the headphone port as a result. Tonight, while getting up from the couch holding my PSP, my finger over the top ports felt a shock as well. I'm not sure if I should move my surge off the carpet... what would be best?
