Why am I being disconnected from Xbox constantly?

I have a 1 MB cable internet service going through a pretty good wireless router. Every time I play Call of Duty online I get disconnected within about 5 minutes of getting on. It usually tells me that my connection with the server timed out. I've tried using ethernet, but that didn't fix the problem. HELP!

so that it has a limited time limit.
