Why all the Honda hate?

I own an S2000 and have been active in the tuning community since around 1999. I had a 91 Galant VR4 and a couple VW's, and own an '82 El Camino with a 383 stroker, all of which were modded and I always heard people dumping on Hondas when I'd go to meets, or out to races, etc. And yet, the S2000 is an awesome machine... Civics may be considered a cop-out for tuners since they're so plentiful and there are so many parts, but they can easily kick ass.

I don't dump on any other makes, and neither do most of the Honda guys I know... but it seems like we're the sworn enemies of the euro and domestic crowds. Good thing they can't catch us...
Yeah but for every riced-out Civic there's plenty of wanna-be riced out Cavaliers, Cobalts, and Focuses. Neon paint, tribal decals, ebay head/taillights, etc.

I think it's more of a hate for those who have absolutely no taste. For example, buying a body kit but not painting it, shitty mufflers, ugly paint jobs that were done wrong, etc. Hondas are nice cars, very reliable and can be very fast. BTW the S2000 is a sick car, nice ride.

LOL I don't hate them but it is not big enough for me I drive a Jeep but Daughter drives a Civic very nice car and it is dependable not like a lot of the american cars (oh boy going to get hate mail from that one) I have been working in a garage for a lonnnnng time and in that time I have worked on less than five Honda's most of my work comes from Chevy, Ford and Chrysler pretty even on Ford and Chevy well have a great day
