Summers of Sisterhood-Anne Brashares
Angel Cake-Cathy Cassidy
Harry Potter- J.K.Rowling
Flowers in the attic-Virginia Andrews
All American Girl-Meg Cabot
Angus Thongs And Perfect Snogging-Louise Rennison
Speak-Laurie Halse Anderson

All good teen Writers i'd recommend are:
Cathy Cassidy
Meg Cabot
J.K.Rowling
Stephanie Meyer
Jacqueline Wilson

J.R.R. Tolkien and Diana Wynne Jones. You can say what you like, but both of them have a gift.
You may want to try Jones' Howl's Moving Castle, followed by its sequels, Castle in the Air and House of Many Ways. In that order. Ignore the large white script on House of Many Ways, proclaiming it to be "The sequel to Howl's Moving Castle!" The series makes much more sense if you read Castle in the Air first as the events it chronicles took place two years before those in House of Many Ways.
And a warning: If you watched the movie Howl's Moving Castle by Hayao Miyazaki, then please don't let it influence your decision to read the book. It's best if you think of them as two entirely different stories. Hope that helped.

my favourite author is sue grafton. she writes mysteries about a private investigator called kinsey millhone. its known as the alphabet series. a is for alibi, b is for burgular, c is for corpse and so on. she's up to t is for trespass at the moment.

janet evanovitch is also very good (more of the romance for you)

but if you want a contempary love story, try twilight, by stephanie meyer. i haven't read it yet ... only seen the movie. but teens seem to love it, and its a love story....

good luck
Karen

A lot of people would say "Twilight." While it's an okay story, I would suggest The Host, another story by Stephanie Meyer.

All's Fair in Love, War, and High School by Janette Rallison is another really good one.

Nineteen Minutes by Jodi Picoult is an extremely touching story about the conflicts of modern high school social stature.

There are many, many more, but these should get you started ;D

Fave authors are:

Dean Koontz
JK Rowling
Bryce Courtenay
JD Robb
Jack Whyte
Wilbur Smith
Diana Gabaldon
George R. R. Martin
Terry Goodkind
Melanie Rawn
Richelle Mead
