Who's property is a unit test: the teacher or the student's?

My teacher thinks that the our Social Studies (grade 12) tests that we have already completed are her property and hers only. Therefore, she only lets us know our marks and refuses to give them back to us even to go over answers. The only time she will give them back is right before the course final and that is only if she trusts you (she trusts only one or two of the kids in my class) and if you promise to get them back to her before a designated time.

In my opinion, this goes against the purpose of giving tests in the first place, and I think once we do the tests they should be ours.

What does everyone else think?
