Who's full of shit? Nintendo or Retail?

I hit Toys R Us, Target, Wal-Mart, Best Buy, Costco, K-Mart, Microcenter, and Circuit City. I asked the same question to every store "When are you guys getting more Wiis in?" EVERY store said "We should be getting some in three to four weeks."

Is this a bullshit retail trick that they use so people don't come in/call in every day asking about the wii stock? Nintendo was boasting high production numbers and I have yet to see the advantage.

However, it could be possible stores are keeping their Wii shipments in the back and holding off on displaying them until Black Friday.


On a side note... K-Mart said they only got 4 Wiis on launch day. They always get shit.
 
Ha. Not surprised. I -MAY- visit Wal-Mart tomorrow because they open at 6am. However, every store I walked into... I kept getting the impression that no store was going to stock the Wiis until Black Friday.
 
i'm about 2 sec away from blackballing them for good.... they do the stupidest shit ever. and thier Tech's for me most part dont know thier own products either....
 
Other observations I made during my hunt tonight:

- No store had any controllers or nunchucks (wtf?). I only say carrying cases and those point cards.

- Every person I saw come out of the store empty handed.. I couldn't but help think "That bitch probably just went in and asked for a Wii. He could have got the last one. "
 
target said "we don't know when we are getting them in or how many have been ordered"

bullshit, i have never worked for a company that had no idea what they ordered and when it's coming in
 
Yeah the Gamestop in the mall is getting a shipment of systems and accessories. That or they already have them and are waiting till friday. Either way they'll be on sale at 7am, and I'm hoping everyone else is in line at Best Buy and all the other large department stores.
