...incessantly whines "gimme-gimme"? I have to award this prize to someone at work and am looking for your guidance here. There's a few "hopefuls" who know the rules of the challenge and think they know the basis for me granting the award. They are always fawning up to me and virtually begging me to give them the prize. Then again, there is this handful who couldn't care less about what the prize is and are pretty much low-key to the point of indifference about the contest. The award is not really based on merit, but rather based on who knows the rules....that sort of points to the whiny bunch, but their incessant yammering and begging sort of ticks me off.

What would you do?
