Who would win in a town hall debate, McCain or Obama?

I just can't imagine Obama doing well in this type of debate. He would be unable to have scripted answers and the few times I have seen him give off the cuff interviews he seemed to stammer a lot. I'm really not trying to hate on him. Just realistically I don't think he will accept a town hall debate because it is not one of his strengths.
Only real answers please. Do you think he would be able to handle a town hall debate against McCain?
There is no denying Obama is an excellent orator. Although unscripted he is not quite as good.

The only way Obama does not look like a stuttering fool is when the questioners stay on Obama's talking points.
How will he do when he does not have Hillary answering the question and he follows with "I agree"

I think both candidates would convey their messages in a clear and concise manner. Who "wins" would be determined by the individual voter, their beliefs and the issues they care about. I do realize, however, the news media and spinners will all fret about who was more charismatic, who landed more blows, who seemed angered/out of touch/etc. and it is really a disservice to claim there is a "winner" of any presidential debate. The winner is who takes the oath of office next January.

With that being said, Obama has had a lot of debating experience over the last 16 months (24 debates?) He has debated one of the best (if not the best) debators in this race and held his own. In contrast, McCain's biggest rivals were Huckabee and Romney and he did not make such a good showing. It will be interesting to watch and as I said before, I think they will both do well.
