And is this a valid enough reason to complain about his boss?
My husband is working for a very laid back company. They generally don't care about over extended breaks/lunches, people have been caught drinking and not fired nor suspended. However, there is a big issue right now with a co-worker and a manager. My husband and just about everyone else in the plant cannot stand to be around or work with this employee. He is irritating annoying and threatens people all the time. Not in a killing way but a physical way non the less. No one wants to work with him because he cannot do his job and blames all the mistakes on others around him. The reason he is not fired already is because he puts his head so far up the managers ass they don't want to see him go.
The manager doesn't want to hear anything about said employee nor does he plan to do anything about his behavior. My husband has tried on many occasions to speak with his boss about his concerns and he is pushed away. They manager will also make fun of my husband about little things that really hurt his feelings and makes his work environment tense. One employee has threatened to bring a gun to work and shoot this other guy for the way he acts. So as you can see this could potentially become a serious issue. However, this gun savvy employee wont speak up about his issues because again the manager does not want to hear any of this and wont hear it even if you try. Who are they supposed to complain to with a work environment such as this with out fear of loss of job, or repercussions.
I am 100% serious. I have never even seen that tv series. I didn't realize our problems have to come from a show. But in addition to that where do you think they get the ideas for these shows? Let me answer. They usually come from real life and the company tries to add a funny twist. But let me tell you something real life isnt funny and if you think everyones problems are funny you are answering in the wrong section.
