Republican Senator Scott Brown and his Democratic challenger Elizabeth Warren faced off in the first of three pre-election debates last night.
Who do you think turned in the winning effort?
Were there any surprises in the first face-to-face challenge? The Brown-Warren race is most expensive and most watched Senate contest in the country as we head into the November election.
A Boston Herald-University of Lowell poll released on Wednesday showed Brown with a 4-point lead, 49-45, heading into last night’s contest.
Three other polls released over the past week, however, gave Warren an edge, the first lead a group of polls has found for the Democrat since she entered the race.
A MassINC poll sponsored by WBUR found Warren ahead 47-42; Suffolk University, sponsored by 7News, had Warren up 48-44; and a PPP poll released Monday found a narrow divide, with Warren at 48 and Brown 46.
Did last night’s debate change the race? How closely are Warren’s chances tied to President Obama’s race for re-election? How closely are Brown’s fortunes tied to Mitt Romney?
We want to know what you think.
