Who will when the Nextel Cup this year.?

With all the changes in crew chiefs, cars and Toyota starting to figuring out their setups, who do you think looks strong his year.

I'd be hardpressed not to say that it's likely that one of Rick Hendrick's drivers will win the Sprint Cup this year, given the caliber of his drivers. Will it be a threepeat for Jimmie? I have no clue--there are so many variables involved with winning the championship--not the least of which is pure luck on the track and in the pits. Of the three, my money would be on Dale Jr., but that's probably because the other two have had their day/s in the sun!

But I'd really love to see Carl Edwards win. He's due, he's a fighter, he's a super driver, he's now had the experience and he's due for a run of better luck. And hey, can you imagine the back flip he'd do if he won the Sprint Cup championship?!!!

Toyota may be starting to figure out their setups, but I don't think it's going to happen (a championship). Denny looked really good last year as a driver, and I always have hopes for Michael Waltrip (even though the guy kind of irritates me personally). And as for Tony, well, Tony's starting to look like a grumbly old man to me! Anyway, so far things are looking a lot better for Toyota this year than last, but I don't think they'll have a Cup Champion this year. (Of course I'm the one who said Starbucks was a losing investment and who would ever pay $4-$5 for a cup of coffee!)

With all of the changes, I think it's truly anybody's guess. Nextel Cup just isn't what it used to be. With all of the drivers coming directly to Nextel from Indy/F1/IRL (wherever the heck they're coming from), and Toyota's presence (I like their passenger cars, BTW), I think I'll be heading to Busch or the Craftsman Trucks series racing. Nextel cup has become so much about the money, that I think it's fan base has max'd out, and is going to take a downward turn. Too many rules, and too few "good ol' boys" has ruined it for me.
