OK this will most likely NEVER happen, but hear me out. So anyone that's played Naruto storm 2 knows its a pretty cool game with an OK style of game play and many characters, nice cell shaded graphics fit that kind of game perfectly. While playing i got an amazing idea. Now let say Pokemon games spread to the Xbox and/or PS3. Then cyber-connect 2 somehow got hold of it. Now they could make this AWESOME Pokemon game in the style of Naruto storm2 or something similar. So heres how i picture it. Since Pokemon black and white are coming out they could include every single Pokemon ever made including the ones from black and white. Instead of adding every single Pokemon as a separate character they should put them into categories. Normal/Water/Ice/Fire/Mixed/Legendary etc. After choosing something like "Fire" then it comes to a screen with every pure fire type.(pure meaning only fire type) For example Cyndaquil. Now instead of there being cyndaquil quilava and typhlosion as seperate characters, they could put only cyndaquil and if you have his evolutions unlocked, press rb (on xbox) to switch between them before choosing, kinda like naruto sage mode or naruto hokage costume. This way the character screen could stay cleaner and more organized. Now in game. Instead of trainers standing around they could just make the pokeball come out of nowhere and land but if they wanted to trainers would be cool. so the battle begins and then the pokemon you chose comes out. Lets use pikachu as an example for this battle. so pikachu comes out does a small interesting animation, and the opponents to and the battle begins. Now the controls for naruto storm 2 would almost perfectly fit this game idea with just a few tweaks. (A) button would be to jump. Pressing it twice would do a dash that varies in speed and range depending on the pokemon. Pikachu could do a jump animation similiar to the one in brawl. pressing (a) and then pressing it again and holding it and pressing a direction on the analog stick could do the dodges that happen in naruto storm 2. Pikachu runs a little side jumps runs a little side jumps, kinda like jugo, wiht maybe a little "pika" every few jumps. Now pressing the (Y) button in naruto triggers the chakra. Obviously there is no chakra in pokemon so instead it could be "focus" or "energy" pressing
and then (a) would do an automatic far and fast dash to the opponent like in naruto storm 2. Instead of being blue like chakra, it could be different for each pokemon type. Since were using pikachu, let's say it is an abrupt charge of electricity sort of like one of pikachu's show off in ssbb. Pikachu could run forward quickly while going "pikapikapika". Now on to the (B) button. pressing B alone or holding a direction could do a different combo for each pokemon. They could be powerful and slow or fast and weaker or a combination of all. I also really like how some combos on naruto storm 2 are very smooth and sometimes show a closeup at the end following with a powerful ending of the combo. for pikachus normal (b) move (no direciton) he could run into them jump spin in the air hitting them with his tail fall back on the ground jump spin on the ground in a circle hitting them with his tail, jump again and do the first part over except this time showing a closeup of him and then ending it with a powerful strike of iron tail. (glowing tail then strike) these wont count as the real "justus" or "moves" kind of like how some jutsus are at the end of some combos in naruto. This iron tail could only be triggered at the end of that combo. Now. The d pad is really not useful in naruto and only lets you throw/use items that barely do anything. Now think about it. Pokemon have always had four moves(max) that they could use at any time right? There are four directions on the d pad right? SO pressing a direction on the dpad could set the "move" you want to do while pressing
and then (b) would trigger it. lets say pikachu has thunderbolt on the up d pad. Press up d pad and it shows "thunderbolt" on the bottom corner of the screen. then press
(b) and he uses it. holding (b) would let him charge it and use "thunder" just like holding b in naruto has some stronger effects on some characters like kisame. Press b and kisame uses water shark bomb. Hold b and he uses water shark shotgun (three water bomb sharks). So technically in one match there is a possibility of 8 type related moves. up down left right on d pad would switch between them and as you progress through the story you unlock more moves to set to the dpad before the match. Now pres
(b) and they do their "ultimate" move for pikachu it could be lets say maybe volt tackle. Their can be a button sequence to see if it hits the opponent or not and if so how strong it will be. Now lets not forgot grabbing/blocking/dodging. Sadly ive run out
Too complicated huh? Yeah basically i would like a pokemon game where each pokemon can be used to battle for real and not just picking a move and hoping it hits.
