Who thinks the Ottawa bicycle law is retarded?

Bicycling is know considered transportation. I never once considered my bicycle as transportation, but as a fun activity and exercise. Know I can't even ride my bicycle without trying t get killed by a car. It's much more dangerous to have bicyclists ride beside the cars, than on the sidewalks! No one even walks on the sidewalks anymore! Their always empty in my neighborhood. Someone though did die from such a law and it's stupid! Who thinks I'm right?
 
Money vs Security:

Ticket riders on the sidewalk.. make me laugh please! I hope all the revenues from these tickets are going to a fund to help family cope with the loss of a child. Whoever came up with this new money grab at the expense of our kids' security should be fired and sentenced to ride Ottawa street for a few months.

I would rather pay tickets all day than having to pay for funerals for my children, or burden the medical system with extended hospital stays after they have been crippled for life.

But in our fearless leaders' mind, I guess it makes more sense is to spend millions to close streets, reduce car lanes, and get drivers more aggravated. Maybe somebody should remind them that we have not seen anything about whellchairs in this new law. Are they not vehicle too? They have 4 wheels and some or even powered. I just thought I would bring up the subject as we are going to see a lot more kids riding them in the near future.

Congratulations to our leaders who will probably get a nice bonus for coming up with such ingenious attempt to look like they care about the population.
