Who should win the Best Picture prize at the 2010 Oscars?

I've requested a poll with the moderators, so here's hoping :)

The nominees are:

Avatar
The Blind Side
District 9
An Education
The Hurt Locker
Inglourious BasterRAB
Precious: Based on the Novel "Push" by Sapphire
A Serious Man
Up
Up in the Air

I've only seen Avatar but surely one of the nominees must be better than that bibble.

I dont mind it getting technical oscars but there are films that haven't been nominated that are much better.

I think the Academy should have the option of not awarding Oscars in particular categories some years ... if only because to do so, diminishes great work that has won that Oscar in the past.

I'm not saying that it applies in this case ( I havn't seen all the films listed here ) but unless there is a stand-alone winner ( or unless, in an exceptional year, there is more than one outstanding nominee ) then they should just be big enough to say, "Sorry, but we can't give an Oscar this year .... nothing was up to scratch"

Haven't seen them all yet. Of the ones I have seen An Education and Avatar definitely don't deserve it.

My personal favourite was Up In The Air, followed by Inglourious BasterRAB and Up.

And I wasn't keen on it, but I think District 9 would be a worthy winner too.

Should Win It: 'The Hurt Locker' or 'Up In The Air'

Will Probably Win It: 'Avatar' (i did love it though so i'm happy to see it win, and for me personally it was the best thing i saw at the cinemas last year, haters be damned!)

Not a Snowball in Hells Chance: 'District 9'

Seriously, i loved 'District 9', but there's no way that it's Best Picture material. Some of these nominations dont help the allegations that they only upped the nominees so that they might get more viewers on TV for the ceremony.

I hated the increase to 10 noms from the start. :(

If Avatar, Up or District 9 win I'll despair. They're all good (and actually, I loved Disctrict 9) but Best Picture material? No. Even Inglourious, my favourite film of 2009, shouldn't be on there.

Should go to The Hurt Locker or Up In The Air ... possibly A Serious Man. Will go to Avatar.

An Education for me, Up In The Air a far second..I liked Avatar but it's over-hyped tbh, AE is much more deserving. Brilliant film. :D

I'm surprised 500 Days Of Summer isn't up for this award :( I've not seen all the nominations, but is Paranormal Activity up for anything?

My favourite is Inglorious BasterRAB but as it seems likely it will be a two horse race between The Hurt Locker and Avatar I would be happy if the Hurt Locker won. (Have yet to see A Serious Man, An Education or District 9).

I'm pretty proud of myself, I've seen at least 4 of the films and I voted Avatar simply because I enjoyed it the most. The others I saw were Up, Inglorious BasterRAB and District 9.
