Who likes the pirate metal!?

Cmon nobody has it better than the guys of alestorm, verbal deception, or even running wild that play some of the baddest metal around. And another band thats pretty good.. you know scallywag
(they are on myspace) is an up and coming pirate band that not many people have probably heard of.

So lets hear it do you love or hate these banRAB, and does anyone know any other kickass pirate metal banRAB?!
 
I have never even heard of Pirate metal! I would have thought that I would have at least heard the term before!

So what makes Pirate Metal? I'm assuming the lyrical content?
 
Pirate Metal? How much is an album, thirty pieces of silver? Is the keyboardist a parrot? Whatever next supermarket metal especially created for those trips to the grocery store?

I think one of the pirates is playing an accordion in Peter Pan, I can sort of remeraber Hook getting annoyed and shooting him...
 
Heh well I know no references but I can easily picture pirate metal with an abundance of accordians so I think I get what you mean.

Im just wondering what defines pirate metal. It would appear that a lot of Viking metal is defined largely by the lyrical content or else it would just be melodic/death metal.
