Who knows a lot about Honda Civics? (Specifically where the fuses are)?

The fuses are under the dash by your left foot.

I had a 1993 Civic and now have a 1999 Accord. both cars use the small plastic color coded fuses.

The 1993 had a cover with what the fuses protect sticker. So you could see which fuse needed to be replaced.

The fuses have a visible link that melts if the fuse is bad. It usually has a black carbon mark too.

Try your owners manual for the help, or a Chilton's manual.

The cigarette lighter has two terminals. one postive and one negative.

The side is kind of like a finger, it probably got caught on the socket. New sockets should cost more than $10. You should replace it since it is defective, and you may have damaged it further with the tweezer removal. you can also go to radio shack and get a cigartette lighter adapter that plugs in and turns it into two or three outlets.

I just got a 91 civic (don't laugh, it's a quick fix until I can afford a new car) i plugged my GPS in the cigarette lighter and part of the charger got stuck in it! i can't use my lighter now so i tried to pull out the piece of metal with a tweezer and i shorted out the radio and now it doesnt work, i'm guessing it's a simple fuse problem but i don't have the owner's manual so can anybody tell me where the fuses are so i can replace it or suggest a way to get that cigarette lighter working again so i can charge things in the car? anything would be helpful

i'm far away from my mechanic and i took it to Sears but those guys didn't know diddley.

THANKS!
