Who just IM'd me? This probably sounds like a weird question.?

I had walked away from my computer to get something to eat. I came back and on the lower right corner of my screen, it said "Hello?" I didn't catch the name above it, but it was the thing that shown me what someone was saying before I looked at the screen. It didn't open a separate IM window for that person. I looked in the archive to see if it was there, but it wasn't.

How do I figure out who just IM'd me?
