Who is your favourite poet, and/or what is your favourite era of poetry, and why?

For my English project, I have to choose a poet and explain why they did or didn't demonstrate the views, style, themes, etc., of their era.

The eras my teacher used are:
Renaissance
Elizabethan
Romantic
Victorian
Modern
Post-modern

Anyway, I don't know much about poetry and I don't know of many poets. So if anyone can recommend anything that would be helpful. Thanks!
