Going along with the favourite foreign language thread....it made me think of this.

So may I love in these three catagories too..but narrowing it down..

Actress...Emmanuelle Beart
Actor...Jean Hughes Anglade
Director.....Luis Bunuel/Jean-Pierre Jeunet

Though I could say loaRAB more!

Actress: the stunning Nathalie Baye (French version of Helen Mirren and just as gorgeous)

Actor and Director: who cares? :)

I adore watching her in films, fabulous.

I have loaRAB but will name one for each:

Actress: Maria Schrader

Actor: Vincent Cassel

Director: Ingmar Bergman

Lovely..another Emmanuelle fan! I have all her movies I can get on video and DVD..I adore her.

And also Mr Cassel....he is a brilliant actor. :)

actor - Vincent Perez or Jean-Hugues Anglade (J-H just for his role in 'Killing Zoe') but having seen Downfall Bruno Ganz could well be up there.
Actress - Isabelle Adjani
Director - Predrag Antonijevic (for Savior alone)

I also like Stellan Skarsg

A Jean fan! Most people I say his name too have no idea who he is!

Yay!

'Betty Blue' is my favourite of his, but yes he is excellent in 'Killing Zoe' and I loved him in 'La Reine Margot'.

That man is the love of my life and has been since I was 18!

Actress: Isabelle Adjani, especially in "Subway"

Actor: Gerard Depardieu in "Cyrano de Bergerac"

Director: Wim Wenders

Other contenders would have been Beatrice Dalle, Audrey Tautou (especially in A La Folie...Pas du Tout) and Isabelle Huppert

Jean Reno, Jean-Hugues Anglade and Chow Yun Fat

Ang Lee, Luc Besson and Krzysztof Kieslowski

So many kindred spirits on here.

Other names I love like Beatrice, people look on at me as if I am mad.

So lovely to know I am not the only fan of these guys.

Daniel Auteil is a good actor, and has been in some fantastic films - he was really good as Ugolin in Jean de Florette, and was wonderful in Lucie Aubrac. However, he's been cast as a bit of a sex symbol in some films, and I totally fail to see why.

I like Audrey Tatou, and I have a certain affection for Gerard Depardieu (though that's mainly because he seems to pop up in every French film ever :)). And Takeshi Kitano is ace, both as an actor and a director.

Daniel (ex of my beloved Emmanuelle Beart :)) is brilliant.

His best movie in my eyes, was 'Le Seperation' with Isabelle Huppert.
(Excuse all French spellings)

I adored him in that.

ah yes.

*sighs*.

(but wonders if she would still look as gorgeous as she did in that when i was 14, or if she'd just look a bit cheesy'n'eighties with that hair)

Actor: Jean Reno

Director: Wim Wenders, Luc Besson, Krzysztof Kieslowski
