Father Mulcahey on M.A.S.H. He is actually a Methodist, but played a very kind and compassionate Catholic Chaplain in the Army. He would do anything for people and as his character developed he was not the bumbling guy he sometimes was portrayed as. He knew the Hell of war and was not afraid to do his part to minister to the MASH Unit members as well as the victims of war. He was a peacemaker and a peacekeeper. I have known a number of priests as well as Protestant ministers in my life who were very similar. Very genuine, compassionate people.
I trust you were not limiting your question to televangelists.
