Who is the best writer of horror?

James Herbert for the fog

The first James Herbert book that I thought I read a half dozen or so since then have read his books, yet it remained my favorite.

In the first chapter of Wiltshire peacefull villiage there is a mysterious earthquake. A large cracks as a result of earthquakes and the eery opens in the ground, thick, white fog everyone who breathed it insane (and gory death scenes usually typical Herbert kill other people) seeps out due to . England around frantically in an ominous cloud, death and the mass suicide and finally to London due to increased fog moves.

I very much James Herbert fans, old or new would recommend this book because it is a very good book - Gorey, original and suspenceful.Listen
