its called amazing grace. and its about some girl and in the frist few chapters there is a lot of death and AIDS and suffering. but im not sure who its by. do you yahooers know?
the cover of the book (hard cover) was of a girl on a chain link fence.
 
Well there's one by Odie Hawkins and by Megan Shull and by Danielle Steel but I think you're probably looking for the one by Odie Hawkins.
