Murder scene: Three bodies were found in the BMWPhil Harris

French police are liaising with the Swedish authorities as they try to unravel the mystery of the French Alps shooting .
Saad al-Hilli and his wife Iqbal were shot dead in their BMW on Wednesday during a camping holiday. A third body was also found in the car - an older woman with a Swedish passport who had also been shot at least three times.
The al-Hillis' youngest daughter Zeena, four, survived the attack after hiding under her mother's skirt . She was found eight hours later, long after police had arrived at the crime scene , as gendarmes were advised not to open the car doors before the forensic team arrived.
But after investigators spoke to the little girl, the mystery over the attack has deepened.
When Zeena spoke to French police she confirmed her mother, father and sister were in the car with her but could not provide the name of the 77-year-old woman who was with them.
“She was asked who she was with and she said ‘Daddy, Mummy, Sisty’ and gave their first names,” Mr Maillaud said.
“The older lady is slightly more complicated because the little girl said she didn’t know her very well.”
Cyclist Sylvain Mollier, 45, was the fourth victim of the shootings.
Investigators are working with their Swedish counterparts to get to the bottom of the woman's relationship with the al-Hillis.
Police in Switzerland and Italy are also helping with the investigation, French police said today.
Four gendarmes have also flown to the UK to join British police in a search of the al-Hilli family home in Claygate, Surrey.
Zeena remains under the care of psychiatric teams and had spoken about what he described as the "terror" of what happened, but did not see anything because she was hiding.
Mr Maillaud said: "The witness statement of the four-year-old girl, she just talked about a fury, a terror. She explained that from the beginning of the murder she was already between her mother and that other woman and she rushed under her mother's legs, her mother's skirt."
Family members - a man and a woman - have arrived in France to visit Zeena and her sister Zainab, seven, who remains in a medically induced coma in a Grenoble hospital.
Zainab was shot in the shoulder, pistol-whipped and left for dead with a fractured skull. Police believe she may only have escaped because the killer ran out of bullets.
A press conference is due to be held at 2pm UK time today. Follow it in our live blog later.
