Who is considered the most famous pop culture icon in American history?

It cracks me up how White people always name Elvis when he CLEARLY stole music from old school blues and soul Black people. So yeah, his fame is pantomimed, and basically a fraud, lol. Typical.

Marilyn Monroe got hers on her own - honestly. So yeah, I could list her as a "most famous" - but she's not really considered "pop culture".

I guess I could say Madonna, but the truth is...

It's Michael Jackson. He's the most famous POP culture icon with record sales that have not been beaten or even paralleled to this day!

It's just sad that his name is basically ruined by all of his infamous run-ins with molestation charges.

I would say Michael jackson, Madonna, Britney Spears and Marilyn Monroe....

Marilyn isn't really pop culture so i'm not sure about her

I know people don't agree with me putting Britney Spears on there but c'mon, she was the driving force behind the return of pop music int he late 90's..... Everyone knows who the girl is... Whether you love her or hate her

Elvis Presley

Every year his fans ask congress for a national holiday honoring him. Over 1 billion records sold even beats The Beatles in sales.
