The USA by miles, man for man the UK armed forces are as good the US military and at various things even better then the US though they often work together very well. A major benefit the US gets is intelligence information from the UK,something they are very good at. The UK has the same economic outlook as the US in short very capitalist bar some domestic differences they are basically the same, in contrast to the rest of Europe which can be economicaly insular. Diplomatically continental Europe wants the UK to act as a bridge between Europe and the US (this is true for the US relations with the Middle East) which puts the UK in a difficult position sometimes but check the UK's commitment to the Iraqi and the Afghan war to see the UK's point of view compared to mainland Europe. It is often said that the UK just follows the US but they do have the same outlook very often and if pushed the UK will refuse to fight in a war it doesn't believe in or believes is un-winnable ie: Vietnam
