Who is an author you enjoy reading in translation? Do you have a fav translator of

I've only ever read translated mythology, my favorites being old Welsh/British tales from bards, Greek and Norse mythology (gotta love Bulfinch's Mythology).

I suppose you're looking for more modern stuff, in which I've only ever read translations of Mamet and "Hamlet Machine" (a German post-modern play that was... not entertaining at ALL).

Hope I helped ^^

Haruki Murakami

Gabriel Garcia Marquez

I've heard that Murakami has one or two books that are quite poorly translated, so I have avoided those. Don't have the translator's name handy.
