For my art class we are painting on plexiglass and our theme is a historical person. I have no problem drawing/painting people but I am having trouble coming up with one.
I would like to do someone in the entertainment industry, preferable a performer. I was thinking maybe Jerry Lee Lewis or Ray Charles. To give you more examples I know other kids are doing Johnny Cash and Elvis (but obviously I can't do the same ones).

So if anyone could give me a better idea it would be much appreciated. Thank You!

(Please no Michael Jackson, Patrick Swayze, or Barack Obama)

Before you paint a picture check on what a/the person you choose has accomplished to make them truly historical.
Most entertainers are not historically important. In other words 100/200 years from now who will care about them in less they made "good" social contributions to society.
Pick one that may meet this criteria.
Suggestions: Pete Seeger, Paul McCartney, Irving Berlin and others.
They may not personally interest you but they have made various social contributions and will not be forgotten in history.
Also you will certainly have someone no one else paints.
Make note of why you chose the person you choose by listing some of what they contributed.
Google them and research their backgrounds. Google famous people in American, European and Asian history.
You could also check on other people who are not entertainers.
Good luck.

For musicians/singers- Madonna, Eric Clampton, any of the Beatles. Barbara Streisand, Billie Holiday, etc.

For artists- Georgia O'Keefe, Frida Khalo, Mary Cassatt

For politicans/political: Rosa Parks, Shirley Chislom, Barbara Jordan.

Just a few examples.
