Actually, I believe right now that there are several findings which predate the land bridge, so other theories are possible - for example, sea migration from north, and some people think it is possible for sea migration from the the south. The brief visit by the Vikings in Canada was a community (according to some archaeological evidence) , but did not last a terribly long time.
