Who else thinks Letterman's jokes as they were intended were really funny?

His jokes were intended to be about Palin's 18-year-old daughter. He made a huge mistake by missing that it was the 14-year-old who accompanied Palin to the game. For that he should and has apologized. But he shouldn't have apologized for the jokes as they were intended.

The jokes were not attacks on women, just as sexual jokes about Bill Clinton are not attacks on men.
White House Watching: I can compare the jokes to jokes about B Clinton because the jokes were not intended to about an underaged girl.
 
Dave Letterman is a sick and twisted pedophile.

He compounded his offense with a weak and self-serving non-apology.

By the time he actually apologized the second time, his lack of contrition was obvious.

Fire David Letterman.
 
I don't watch him and normally don't find him funny but I did find those jokes funny.

Doesn't mean I wasn't offended...but they were funny.
 
Crass, low-blow shots, classless.... all of those describe the jokes.

Still, they were funny, because of the juxtaposed irony involved. Bristol was the punch line, but the jokes were on A-Rod, Sarah Palin and her willingness to try and exploit Bristol's situation, and Spitzer, as well.
 
I thought they were hilarious, and he shouldn't have apologized either way. No reason to feed into the conservative wahmbulance.


By the way, don't take the evangelical conservatives on here as evidence that we're wrong. These people wouldn't find Superbad funny simply because it was rated R. To them, funny is knock knock jokes and puns. And THATS why we, as intelligent people, make fun of them. Check out my source for more laughs.

Sorry, but I think both his Palin jokes crossed the line...and I CAN'T STAND Palin or her politics.
 
He knew exactly what he was saying and about who, he just got caught by the public being a pervert. Any attempt to defend him is just in poor taste.

How can you compare jokes about Bill Clinton to joke about the underage daughter of an EX VP Candidate that was minding her own business giving a speech for the Downs Association.

Liberal Logic is astounding.

Actually I haven't found Letterman funny since 1991...I was 17 then...and Liberal...that is why Leno got the Tonight Show was because Carson didn't think Dave was funny...
