I have Israeli citizenship, but because I live abroad (in the United States), I have obtained an exemption from the Israeli Consulate. I still want to serve in the IDF. I would like to serve 1-2 years after I finish college (in 1-2 yrs), and postpone the 3rd yr ( of the 3 years required by men) till after I finish medical school (hopefully). Is there any way to do it, and if so, who do I need to talk to?
