There is one incident on my credit history which resulted in a 30-day late flag on my credit report for which I am not at fault...I'm considering buying a home so I want to try and remove this flag by explaining the situation. Who is the department that I would call for this type of issues? I don't really want to pay a large fee for those 'settle-your-credit-disputes' services I see online. From what I hear, they don't do anything the individual is not capable of doing his/herself, they just are more familiar with the process.
