Who designed the Ford Mustang?

The Actual Ford Mustang was designed in 2002, and it came out as Ford Mustang GT. As i look at the actual design, the car looks more modern from the 1970 Ford Mustang. I wonder, who designed the Mustang GT? And how did he/she look at the 1970 Mustang and turns it to a modern Mustang?

The new styling was done by Patrick Schiavone, whom incorporated several styling cues from earlier Mustangs
