J R R Tolkien
Robert Jordan
Terry Goodkind
Ursula K Le Guin
Terry Pratchett
Terry Brooks
Elizabeth Haydon

If you guys have some really awesome writers please tell me. Maybe I might start reading their books as well.

Ok J.K. Rowling is pretty good. Meyers and Paolini are a joke. And I cant stand half the authors you listed. Most of them are sssoooo boring. They just pack in the over-description of inconsequential scenery. I cant stand that kind of purposeless writing that has a crawling pace.

Tolkien is a perfect example of this. No doubt that he is a good writer. But damn its hard to pay attention when he goes on for two pages describing a tree. And the whole Tom Bombadil (or whatever his name is) chapter was completely unnecessary.
