who are better eye doctors: OD or MD?

yes i mean OD "Doctor of Optometry" NOT "DO"

OD guys....[i'm saying and emphasizing this now b/c on every forum that ive searched, i get some stupid person that thinks i mean the other one]

or MD?

what is the difference? and which doctor is better for getting your eyes checked and getting glasses and stuff?
