It's been confirmed that series 2 of Whitechapel will start on Monday 11th October at 9pm on ITV1 and ITV1 HD. I can't wait! :)

You can see the full-length trailer for it HERE.

And if you're a fan of the series, please check out the community for it on LIVEJOURNAL.

Beat me to it - just found out now too lol

Shame they are putting it up directly in competition with Spooks. luckily this day in age time-shifting is such an easy thing!

Thanks for posting the link to the trailer. Just watched and its looking good. Glad Steve Pemberton is back - although every time I watch him in this I can't stop seeing him as Mr Tubbs lol

Really looking forward to this I have to say. Loved the first series. I just sky+ everything on channels with adverts so it won't affect me that it clashes with Spooks.

I'm looking forward to this. I became really hooked on the last series even though I started out as lukewarm about yet another JtR story. The Kray story is fascinating and Craig Parkinson looks menacing as the twins.

I've only recently caught up with the first series (on ITV3) and found it hugely enjoyable. For some reason, I'd missed the promos last year and gotten the impression it was period rather than modern somehow. Anyway, loved it - great performances (particularly Phil Davis' caustic RAB) and a gripping storyline. I look forward to the sequel - though I fear
The Krays
will not be as compelling a subject for me.

I'm resurrecting this thread as Whitechapel scheduled for next Monday.

It will be interesting to see if this performs as well in the Monday slot as DCI Banks. I'm doubting that. Radio Times was quite scathing about episode 1 today. I've seen a few clips now and I'm not sure series 2 has the style of Whitechapel 1.:)

I've never seen it before as I'm a bit bored of cop dramas as it's all we seem to get these days but must admit this one did look interesting with the Krays connection, I'll give it a watch.

It should be good competition for Spooks.

The BBC1 show is not on the form it once was. Having said that, this weeks Spooks has been hailed by TV mags as the best of the series so far.

Let battle commence.

Oh and I'll be watching Whitechapel.
