I recently blew a freeze plug and had to pull the tranny to get to it. The truck ran fine for a day. Now when I start it it misses and sputters and blows smoke out of the tailpipe. Large clouds. I have checked the coolant, no signs of oil.. also the oil.. no signs of coolant. Not thinking head gasket.. yet. I do know I have to install new plugs and wires. After I get it started and rev it up a little it quits sputtering and runs great. The white smoke stops after I get moving and getting into higher gears. It does start again when rolling along slowly in first gear. Would fouled plugs cause this problem?
