Whirlpool 465 gas stove intermittent bake cycle?

I have a Whirlpool 465 gas stove, model #SF379LEKQ that is about 7 years old. Recently, the stove part stopped working correctly. It doesn't happen all the time. When the stove is on and trying to maintain the set temperature, it will occassionally not light. I can hear the "tick" sound of the igniter inside and then under normal circumstances (when it is working properly), I will then hear the gas go "woof" inside, meaning it lit again. When it acts up, it will go "tick, tick, tick" multiple times and never lights. I think a safety mechanism inside the stove prevents it from lighting again, since it failed to light, and then the stove will not light again.

When it just happened again earlier today, all I did was open the oven, turn the stove back off, and then back on again. It then lit ok and worked the rest of the baking cycle.

What could be causing this? Is something wrong with the ignitor? Is something clogged? Is the control board bad? The symptoms lead me to believe something is wrong with the ignitor. My wife doesn't want to use the oven anymore, as it is not reliable.
