i was installing windows xp on my Emachines Desktop.
and usually everything looks really like, like i mean the graphics and everything, but it turned all pixelized, like if it was an old windows 98 or something.
heres a pic of what i mean:

does anyone know how to fix that back to normal?

It just means that you're computer hasn't found an optimal video driver. Once XP is installed, visit the Microsoft Update website, do a Custom Update, and install all available updates. Chances are that it will be solved then. If not, you could then visit the eMachines websites and download the appropriate video driver from them. Best of luck.

it could be that you never wiped your hard drive and xp is clashing with the original data, from a previous installation

going by your pic, windows hasnt installed yet, give it a chance, it needs to boot and find your hadware and install the drivers.

Agreed! While installing Win XP, your hard drive was formatted. Thus, erasing your video driver. When the install is done, get a video driver for your graphics card from Windows Update (not recommended) or just goto emachines manu website, put in your model number, download appropriate video driver for your machine. Good luck to you!

u can get it formated and install a new good windows XP which is latest and also u can tell him to save ur datas which u have already saved in the computer.

I think it's a driver problem go to the XP site and see if they have a download for it.
