bottle. Was this trail rage? How many hikers are run over by mountain bikes? It is a jungle out there.
 
Probably. In a lot of non-remote places, there's competition between bikers and hikers for the same trail. Most of the time bikers are cooperative, but unfortunately too many of them are just competitive and find hikers to be a problem and in their way. Fortunately, I know of plenty of places to hike around where bikers fear to tread---that's the beauty of going on foot.
 
You're on rough terrain here - tread lightly. Bikers can get really dirty. Try to put your best foot forward but at the same time stand your ground and don't take any BMX from them.
