As I was taking my behind-the-wheel exam today, an ambulance with its siren on showed up. I was driving down a four lane road, two lanes in the direction I was heading. The ambulance was driving the opposite way, but rather slowly. Hesitantly, I was unsure of what to do. I noticed how other drivers behind me were simply ignoring the ambulance, so I did the same. Unfortunately, I was wrong. Wrong enough for me to fail the test that I had been flying smoothly by up to that point. The reason I ask now is because, both my sister and father were surprised to hear that you must pull over to the side of the road even when the ambulance is going the opposite way. What gives?
