Which you say Dean and Sam Winchester are more like police or military?

I was bored and just thinking about this the other day. Would you say that Dean and Sam from Supernatural are more like cops because they solve "crimes" (even though they're supernatural in nature) and usually are impersonating police or feds? Or are they more military due to the way they were raised and the fact that they're fighting a war? Or are they about half and half? Thoughts? Doubt there's any right or wrong answer, just something I was thinking about.
 
It's half and half, they get the job done like the military does, and the work like military men, they can be chameleons like cops and impersonate people.
