Well, you've got two whole packages here that you've got to consider completely.
The Subaru Legacy offers you AWD capabilities enabling things like off-roading and winter driving with less worries over snow, ice, and travelling up mountains. This means it's more of an 'active' person's vehicle in that you can haul it out to deserts, mountains, etc.
The Mazda6 on the other hand is more of a sexy, sleek, admirable car. This is the kind of car that turns heads and is great to drive around the city. The new upgraded looks from the previous 6 are incredible and the interiors on Mazda's are known for their flashy, goodness. =)
It all depends on your intentions with the cars.
Personally, if it's Legacy vs Mazda6, I'd get the Mazda.
But say Subaru Impreza WRX vs Mazda6, I may have to go with the WRX.
