which would come first....paying your bills or buying new (needed, not wanted) clothes

for your kids? if you had a limited income and some months could only pay for certain things, what would they be? if it came between having to pay the utility bills or buying your kid a winter coat in the winter, which one would you do?
 
Bills.
I could get a coat the next week WITHOUT a late fee being compounded onto it.
 
Utility bills and then go to the VA, salvation army, or my church to get a winter coat and/or clothes. If money is that tight, you don't "need" new things, hand-me-downs work just as good.

If the bills aren't paid, we have no electricity,water etc.

Now, if its a "luxury" bill such as internet, tv, cell I wouldn't pay it right then so I can buy my kid something he needs.


Then again, that's why thrift shops were created lol.
