Which track is better to get promoted in the army, Combat or support services ?

I think that I'll burn myself out if I do two deployments in a combat job. But if I do stuff behind the front lines like engineering work or paper pushing for the army, I will have more energy in five years to take on a bigger Army job.
 
Promotion rates really vary. There is no guarantee that you will get promoted any sooner or faster if you are in a combat-arms job rather than combat-support. It's all on the numbers and the motivation of the Soldier. However, it is seen that the medical MOSs do make rank a little slower. You just have to look at the cuttoff scores and compare them over the months/years.
